With the implementation in your Dynamics 365 Business Central you set the technical measure to increase your master data quality and to examine it sustainably.
Article 5 (1) (d) of the General Data Protection Regulation states:
Personal data must be [...] factually correct and, if necessary, up to date; all appropriate measures must be taken to ensure that personal data that are inaccurate for the purposes of their processing are deleted or corrected without delay ("accuracy").
Initial situation: Person is included multiple times in the database
Mr. Müller therefore receives every newsletter delivery twice and annoys the whole time something about it.
Mr. Müller answers the company and does not want to receive any more. (Right to object to the direct mail advertising according to Art. 21 GDPR) In the database the advertising lock is only set for one record. Therefore Mr. Müller receives the next newsletter again (but only once more)
Mr. Müller is now angry and complains to the supervisory authority:
- Disregard of the GDPR principles
Incorrect entry of the e-mail adress
Data verification for:
- Postal Adress
- Email Adress
- Phone Number
- VAT, etc.
